Once your date is locked in, you're all set. About a week before your session, I'll reach out to confirm the details, go over anything we need to know, and share any additional context that will help us make the most of our time together. From there, you just show up and enjoy it.

Yes, 50% of the total is due at booking to reserve your date and time, with the remaining 50% due one week before your session.

Life happens. If you need to reschedule, just give me at least 48 hours notice and we'll find a new date, no extra charge. A second reschedule, or one with less notice, may require a new deposit to lock in the updated date. Deposits themselves are non-refundable.

Absolutely, I serve all of San Diego County, and I'm always up for a trip further out too. If you're dreaming of Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, or somewhere else entirely, let's plan it out. Travel fees vary by location.

I keep a close eye on the forecast. If real rain looks likely, I'll be in touch to talk through rescheduling and we'll make it work. Cloudy skies are a different story, though, I don't reschedule for those. Honestly, overcast light is some of the most beautiful, soft light there is, and after years of shooting I've got a good sense of when it'll look stunning. Nature does its own thing, and I embrace it.

Every session is different, and I've got plenty of opinions on what looks great in front of the camera. If you're not sure where to start, we'll talk it through together, your vision, your style, and I'll help you land on something that feels like you. I'll also gently steer you away from anything that historically hasn't photographed well, trust me, I've seen it all.

Every time. With 8 years behind the camera, I've got a whole toolkit of poses and prompts that feel natural, not stiff, so you can relax and actually enjoy the session instead of worrying about where your hands go.

If you know you might want more time, let's build that into the booking in advance so I can plan the schedule around it.

For the most part, don't worry about it. We'll still be able to capture everything we planned. I build a little breathing room into my sessions for the things you can't plan for, traffic, wardrobe malfunctions, wrangling kids or dogs, and all the other little surprises that happen on a photo day. So if you're running a few minutes behind, we'll adjust and keep things moving. Life happens. That's part of the plan.

Absolutely, in fact, proposals are one of my favorite things to photograph. My approach is a little different from a typical engagement session. We'll plan everything together beforehand, including the location, timing, and exactly where I'll be hiding. I'll use a long lens to stay completely out of the way and capture the moment as it actually happens, without interrupting it. Once you've had a chance to take it all in, I'll give you a little space to enjoy the moment privately before we transition into a relaxed portrait session together. That way, you get both things that matter: the moment you can't recreate, and beautiful photographs of everything that came after.

Your gallery will be ready within two weeks, and it's usually sooner. If you need images sooner for something time-sensitive, like mailing out invitations or announcements, just tell me and we'll make it happen.

A private online gallery of high-resolution digital images, ready to download, print, and share. I also partner with a local San Diego print shop if you'd like high-quality artwork prints made from your session.

I don't put a specific number on it, because I don't believe in holding photos back just to sell you more later. I deliver every good photo from your session, so you get the full story, not an arbitrary selection. The number naturally varies depending on the session, a family of three might receive around 35 images, while a family of 12 with two dogs could easily receive 100 or more. It all depends on the length, type of session, and how much we capture. Either way, there are no surprise galleries afterward with 'extra photos' available for purchase. What you see is what you get.

Yes. Every delivered image is professionally edited and retouched to make sure it looks its best while still feeling natural. I want you to look like yourself, just on a really good day. I don't believe in overly processed skin or making a photo feel disconnected from the moment it came from.

Absolutely. While you'll receive your high-resolution digital images, I also believe photographs deserve to exist somewhere other than a camera roll or hard drive. I partner with a local San Diego professional print lab to offer high-quality prints and artwork from your session. If there's a particular image you love, I can help you choose the right size and format and have it printed for your home. There's something pretty special about seeing a photograph you love as an actual piece of your home instead of knowing it's sitting somewhere on your computer.

Yes, your images come with a print release for personal use. Print them, share them, post them, no restrictions.
